Corrie Woods

Corrie Woods is the primary author of SCOPABlog and the host of The Standard of Review. Corrie has spent the vast bulk of his career in Pennsylvania appellate practice. He is currently an appellate with Kline & Specter, PC, one of Pennsylvania’s preeminent plaintiff’s firms, and previously founded, managed, and litigated at a Pennsylvania appellate boutique practice. Before that, Corrie served as a judicial law clerk for then-Justice, now-Chief Justice Debra Todd of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, and, earlier, for the late then-Judge, now-Justice Emeritus Arthur M. Recht of the First Judicial Circuit of West Virginia. Corrie is an alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude and served as a research editor on the University of Pittsburgh Law Review. Corrie is also an alumnus of West Liberty University outside his hometown of Wheeling, Wet Virginia.

Corrie is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and Third Circuit, the United States District Courts for the District of Columbia and the Western District of Pennsylvania, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, and the Supreme Court of West Virginia. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Philadelphia Bar Association, Allegheny County Bar Association, Washington County Bar Association, and West Virginia State Bar Association. Corrie also leads the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Appellate Practice Committee and Amicus Brief Committee. Corrie regularly writes and speaks on Pennsylvania appellate practice topics at Continuing Legal Education and Continuing Judicial Education events.
