Corrie Woods

Author/Host

Corrie Woods is the primary author of SCOPABlog and the host of The Standard of Review. Corrie has spent the vast bulk of his career in Pennsylvania appellate practice. He currently works as an appellate attorney for Kline & Specter, PC, one of Pennsylvania’s preeminent plaintiff’s firms, and previously founded, managed, and litigated at a startup appellate boutique practice. Before that, Corrie served as a judicial law clerk for then-Justice, now-Chief Justice Debra Todd of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, and, earlier, for the late then-Judge, now-Justice Emeritus Arthur M. Recht of the First Judicial Circuit of West Virginia. Corrie is an alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude and served as a research editor on the University of Pittsburgh Law Review. Corrie is also an alumnus of West Liberty University outside his hometown of Wheeling, Wet Virginia.

Corrie is licensed to practice before state courts in West Virginia and Pennsylvania, and before the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Third Circuit and District of Columbia Circuit. He is a member of the West Virginia State Bar Association, Allegheny County Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Washington County Bar Association, American Association for Justice, Pennsylvania Association for Justice, Philadelphia Bar Association, and Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association. Corrie also leads the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Appellate Practice Committee, and routinely writes and speaks on Pennsylvania appellate court and appellate practice topics in Continuing Judicial Education and Continuing Legal Education events.
